Quickstart

Get Obsidian PM Starter running quickly with a focused first-run flow. This page is the onboarding path for new users.

Before you begin

  • Obsidian is installed on your machine.
  • You have access to the vault folder from this repository.
  • Node.js and npm are optional, used only for the plugin installer path.

  • How to initialize the starter vault from template or clone.
  • How to open and trust the vault in Obsidian.
  • How to finish first-run setup using the dashboard checklist.

Setup steps

  1. Use the GitHub template or clone this repository.
  2. Open the vault folder in Obsidian.
  3. Enable Community Plugins and trust the vault.
  4. Optional but recommended: run npm install then npm run plugins:install.
  5. In Obsidian, enable installed plugins and set Templater's template folder to Templates.
  6. Open 00 Dashboard/One-click Setup Guide.md and complete the checklist.

Done when

  • The dashboard pages open without setup prompts.
  • Core plugins are enabled and working in your vault.
  • You can start using the daily and weekly workflow notes.

Outcome

By the end of this quickstart, you should be able to use the dashboard workflow immediately and start managing active projects.
